You are running a shop, and it is Tuesday morning.

Twelve comments came in overnight on one post — the 14" sleeve — waxed canvas — for a small bag maker called Aldergrove Supply. This is what Respondu did with them, and the one decision it needs from you.

The shop is invented. Everything Respondu says below is real: it was written by the model that writes your replies, before you arrived, running over exactly these twelve comments. What is real and what is not.

Step one

What came in.

Sorted, not just listed. Two of them never reached a model at all — there is no point paying to be told what a regular expression already knows.

  1. Priya N. Praise

Just got mine and the waxed canvas is lovely. Somehow it already looks better than the day it arrived.

  2. Daniel R. Question

How much is delivery to Ireland?

  3. Sam O. Question

What would shipping to Ireland come to? Trying to work out if it lands before the 12th.

  4. Marta K. Question

What is postage to Dublin? I cannot see it anywhere at checkout.

  5. Owen T. Question

Is shipping to Ireland the same price as the UK, or is there a surcharge?

  6. Jess H. Question

Will this fit a 14-inch MacBook Pro with a case still on it?

  7. Tomas L. Request

Any chance of the olive one coming back in stock? Been checking every week.

  8. Alan W. Criticism

Mine arrived with the stitching coming away at one corner and I have had no answer to two emails. Not what I expected at this price.

  9. Ruth M. Question

How do you re-wax it when it wears through? Is it the same wax you would use on a jacket?

  10. Kev Personal story

Third one of these I have bought. The first is four years old and still going strong.

    🔥🔥🔥

Twelve comments. Ten worth reading, and four questions between them. Four different people asked the same thing about delivery in four different ways.

Step two

What it could answer, and what it could not.

Respondu has been given nothing about this shop yet — no prices, no delivery times, no stock. This is every account on its first morning, and it is the honest starting point.

Two it wrote

Nothing about the shop was needed, so it just answered.

to Priya N.

Thanks! Really glad you’re enjoying it. The waxed canvas does age nicely.

to Kev

That’s great to hear, Kev — thanks for sticking with them.

Seven it parked

Each waits on a fact only you have. It did not guess at any of them — that is the whole design.

  • 4 asked What do you charge for delivery to Ireland?
  • 1 asked Does the 14" sleeve fit a 14-inch MacBook Pro with a case on?
  • 1 asked When will the olive waxed canvas sleeve be back in stock?
  • 1 asked How do you re-wax the sleeve when it wears through?

One it handed to you

Alan’s. A complaint about a fault and two ignored emails, and no amount of extra information would make it right for us to write this one.

to Alan W.

This one needs you personally.

Not a failure A correct answer, and the one a generic reply bot gets most wrong. It arrives with an empty box rather than a smooth apology written by a machine.

Seven people are waiting on four facts. On a channel that gets forty comments a night rather than twelve, that ratio is the entire argument for this product.

Step three · your turn

Answer the one question only you can answer.

This is the screen you would actually spend your time on. One answer releases every comment waiting on the same question — you are answering four questions, not seven people.

4 asked Won’t change unless you change it

What do you charge for delivery to Ireland?

Daniel, Sam, Marta and Owen are waiting on this. They asked it four different ways; it is one fact.

Pick an answer — any of them is true of some shop

You said Ireland is £4.95, the same as the UK, and takes 3 to 5 working days. Free on orders over £60.

Four replies written. Every comment waiting on that question, at once.

to Daniel R.

Written from what you told us.

Same price as the UK — £4.95, or free on orders over £60.

You said We only ship within the UK at the moment. Ireland is on the list for later this year, and there is a notify-me box on the product page.

Four replies written — and not one of them answers the question as asked, because the true answer is no.

to Daniel R.

Written from what you told us.

We only ship within the UK at the moment. Ireland is on the list for later this year, and there’s a notify-me box on the product page if you’d like an alert when that happens.

to Sam O.

Written from what you told us.

We’re UK-only at the moment — Ireland’s on the list for later this year. There’s a notify-me box on the product page if you want a heads-up when that changes.

to Marta K.

You said Ireland is £9 and takes 7 to 10 working days. Duty and VAT are collected at checkout, so there is nothing to pay on delivery.

Three replies written, and one more question for you. This is the interesting one — read Owen’s again.

to Daniel R.

to Owen T. — still waiting

Owen asked whether Ireland costs the same as the UK. You said what Ireland costs. You did not say what the UK costs.

What does shipping to the UK cost?

Nobody built that behaviour into this page. Respondu was handed your answer, noticed it did not contain what Owen actually asked, and asked you a second question rather than writing a reply that sounded right. That is the whole product in one screen.

Step four

Nothing goes out until you say so.

Drafts come to you oldest first. Change any word you like, or throw it away — both are answers, and both are recorded.

Daniel R. Ready Question 1 of 4

on your post the 14" sleeve — waxed canvas

How much is delivery to Ireland?

Written from what you told us, two minutes ago.

Your reply, in your voice 89 characters

Ireland is £4.95, same as the UK, and takes 3 to 5 working days. Free on orders over £60.

Post it as it stands, or change it first. Either is an answer; both are recorded.

What that decision was worth

You did not grade it. What you did is the measurement — posting it untouched is the strongest evidence there is, and rewriting it counts against Respondu rather than for it.

The number, and why it is two numbers Confidence is a lower bound, not an edit rate. It starts at 5% knowing nothing, three clean approvals move it to about 47%, and it takes roughly twenty to reach 87%. A percentage on its own cannot tell “bad” from “not yet known”, which is why the count of decisions is always beside it.

Aldergrove Supply

5% nothing decided yet

Five percent is not a bad score, it is an absence of evidence — the bound a new account starts on before it has been right about anything. Decide the drafts above and watch it move.

Step five

And this is where it stops.

Five settings, and every channel starts at the bottom. You choose per channel, and if it gets something wrong it moves back down on its own.

Off
No drafts at all. It still reads and sorts your comments.
Drafts only What you just did
It writes replies and waits. Nothing goes out until you press post.
Approve in batches
Clear a whole set of drafts at once instead of one at a time.
Post after a delay Not available yet
It posts on its own after a pause long enough for you to stop it. It has to earn this first, and we have not finished building it.
Fully hands off
It gets on with it, while still sending you the occasional reply so it keeps being checked.

What on this page is real

A product that promises not to make things up should be able to say exactly what it just showed you. So, plainly:

  • Aldergrove Supply does not exist, and neither do Priya, Daniel, Sam, Marta, Owen, Jess, Tomas, Alan, Ruth or Kev. We do not republish real people’s comments.
  • The mix of questions is real. It is shaped by 4,379 comments we captured from seven real product channels to find out what people actually ask a shop — delivery and availability dominate, and one comment in six carries a question at all.
  • Every reply and every question here was written by Respondu, by the same model that would write yours, running over these twelve comments before this page existed. None of it was written by us to look good.
  • This page contacts nothing and posts nothing. The replies are frozen, which is why typing your own answer shows you what it wrote for the nearest of the three — it cannot re-draft without a model, and this page deliberately cannot reach one.
  • The counts are arithmetic on what is on screen. Twelve comments, four questions, four people waiting on one of them. We are not claiming hours saved, and there are no customer quotes on this page because there are no customers to quote yet.
  • Replies that post themselves are not ready. The dimmed rungs above are dimmed because they are not finished, not because you have not earned them.
