Your data

Letting something into your comments is a big ask.

So here is exactly what Respondu can see, what it keeps, what it can never do, and how to take it all back — without a wall of legal wording.

What it can reach

Only the channels you connect, and only what you allow.

You connect your own channel through Google, and you choose one of two levels of access. The smaller one is a real choice, not a crippled version — almost everything still works.

Read only It can see your channel, what you have published, and the comments on it. It writes drafts for you as normal. It simply cannot post anything, no matter what.
Read and reply The same, plus the ability to post and remove replies. Only asked for if you decide you want Respondu to be able to post at all.

Disconnect a channel and we delete our copy of the keys to it. One honest catch: that does not cancel the permission at Google’s end, because no app can do that for you. We tell you so and link you straight to the page where you can, rather than letting you think it was handled.

What we keep

Comments do not sit here for ever.

Comment text Deleted after 30 days. We keep what we worked out about it — that it was a question, that it was positive — so the same comment does not have to be read twice.
Your answers Kept until you delete them, or until a temporary one runs out on its own.
Your sign-in Your email, name, profile picture and Google account ID. Your password never reaches us — Google handles that and we never see it.
Selling your data No. There is no advertising here and nothing is sold. We would have to change this page and the privacy policy before that could ever be untrue.
Tracking on this website None at all. This site runs no analytics and sets no cookies.

To write a reply, a comment has to be sent to an AI provider — that is unavoidable for a product that drafts replies, and it is the one thing that leaves our server. The full detail, including who that provider is and how to have everything deleted, is in the privacy policy.

Keeping it apart

Your channel is not mixed in with anyone else’s.

Everything belonging to your account is kept separate from every other account, and that separation is built into how the product stores things rather than being something somebody has to remember each time. If it cannot tell whose data it is looking at, it refuses to look rather than guessing.

The keys to your channel are locked away with strong encryption, and each one only works for the channel it belongs to — so even somebody with their hands on our database could not take your access and use it somewhere else.

If you comment on two different channels that both use Respondu, nothing joins those up. We build no profile of anyone across creators, and we never contact your commenters.

Your account

Nothing in your browser can post as you.

Signing out actually signs you out

Your browser holds nothing that could be stolen and used to post on your channel. Sign out, or remove somebody from your team, and it takes effect on the very next click rather than whenever something happens to expire.

This website cannot touch your account

The page you are reading is completely separate from the app you sign in to. It cannot read your session, and it cannot do anything on your behalf — the two share a look and nothing else.

Two things we are not going to claim

  • Nobody independent has audited us. No outside security review, no certification badge. Saying otherwise would be exactly the sort of thing this page exists to avoid.
  • Sign-in is still going through Google’s review, which is why access is granted by hand at the moment.
